Maritime VSAT

A vessel never sits still, so the antenna has to work against it. We install stabilized VSAT systems that keep the dish locked on the satellite through swell and course changes, and we site, cable and commission them so the link stays up long after the installation crew has left the deck.

What the work covers

Site survey on board
We check mast and deck positions for blockage, structural mounting, cable runs to the below-deck unit and distance from radar and other transmitters before any steel is drilled.
Antenna and pedestal installation
Mounting the radome, fitting the pedestal and bolting it down to suit the vessel’s motion, then routing and terminating coax and power to marine standards.
Below-deck equipment
Antenna control unit, modem and router installed in the rack or bridge space, labelled and documented so the crew can find them.
Line-up and commissioning
Pointing, polarisation and network line-up with the satellite operator, then a handover with test results the operator can keep on file.
Servicing and repair
Fault-finding, part replacement and re-commissioning of existing antennas, including systems we did not install.

Tell us about the vessel.

Send the vessel type, where it works and what the link needs to carry. We’ll come back with questions, then a survey date.
